Financial Literacy: A Suite of OCN units

The Basic Skills Cymru Financial Literacy project have produced a suite of Financial Literacy units accredited through OCN Wales. The new units are now available for use throughout Wales.

Open College Network (OCN) Wales

Open College Network Wales supports learning and widens opportunity by recognising achievement through credit based courses and qualifications and works in partnership with colleges, universities, adult education centres, voluntary and community groups and employers.

Open college networks recognise and accredit courses covering all aspects of education and training. They award nationally recognised certificates of achievement, using the system of OCN credits and NOCN qualifications.

Courses are offered by Universities and Higher Education Colleges, Further Education Colleges, Community Education providers (e.g. workers education association), voluntary organisations and community partnerships, Local Education Authorities, Health Authorities, Small and Large private sector businesses.

To find out more about OCN Wales please visit the website at www.ocnwales.org.uk

They have been designed to ensure they are relevant and accessible to a wide range of organisations. There are 5 units for each level; one unit is primarily literacy focussed, one unit primarily numeracy focussed, and the remaining three having varying combinations of both literacy and numeracy.
