Mutations Card

Mutations are undoubtedly the most difficult part of learning the Welsh language, and even for fluent Welsh speakers they still invariably cause problems.

Help is at hand, however, with the Basic Skills Agency’s new mutations cards, which was launched at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Mona, Anglesey. They will assist all Welsh speakers with the three most common mutations: the soft, the nasal and the aspirate.

Toni Schiavone, Assistant Director for Wales at the Basic Skills Agency, said: “I’m confident that this resource will be very useful for school children and will contribute towards improving their basic skills in the Welsh language. I’m sure a great number of adults will also appreciate these cards.”
