Citizenship Materials for ESOL Learners – Autumn 2005 Workshops

ESOL teachers' familiarisation workshop - Full Day

This one day workshop is designed for ESOL teachers and it will include useful, practical strategies for using the learning materials pack in the classroom. There will be an opportunity to share ideas with other teachers and to explore the best ways of teaching ESOL in a citizenship context to prepare learners for citizenship.

Would you like to attend these workshops? LLU+ and NIACE are running a second phase of teacher’s familiarisation workshops in the autumn and if you are an ESOL teacher or manager you are welcome. All the workshops are free and every delegate receives a free copy of Citizenship materials for ESOL learners.

The first phase of Workshops were delivered by LLU+ and NIACE between January and March 2005 across the 9 English regions to introduce the Citizenship materials for ESOL learners pack to ESOL teachers. There was a huge interest in the workshops and a second phase of regional workshops is planned for October and December 2005. There are 27 events in total across the 9 English regions, 4 events in Scotland and 2 events in Wales.

Bookings are being taken for the next phase of training: October - December 2005.
The schedule for Wales is below:

  • Cardiff - Thursday 17 November
  • Llandudno - Tuesday 6 December
