The skills factor

Guardian Education – 26 September 2006 – includes a special supplement from the Basic Skills Agency. 'The skills factor' supplement highlights the Agency's work and provides examples of best practice from across England and Wales.

The topics covered include a discussion of the scale of the problem and the Agency's approach to raising standards in basic skills plus sections on improving standards, engaging the disengaged, transition and speaking and listening.
