Celebrating excellence in business
collecting award

Five Employer Pledge companies were honoured at the Daily Post Achievement Wales Business Awards earlier this month. One of the most anticipated events on the business calendar, the gala event celebrates excellence in business in companies of all sizes based in North and mid Wales. Toni Schiavone, Executive Director of the Basic Skills Agency presented the Employer Pledge Roll of Honour to Brian Fleet of Airbus, Gini Scarratt and John Davies of Conwy Furniture Reclaim, Cliff Wood of the First Milk Cheese Company, Ivor Bufton of Honeywell and Nerys Jones on behalf of Conwy County Borough Council. The five companies were recognised for their commitment to the Agency’s successful Employer Pledge programme. Each had shown evidence of integrating basic skills support through offering basic skills training courses and including basic skills in recruitment, induction, performance management and other workplace processes that were sustainable over a long period. The gala dinner and awards ceremony was held on December 1 at the University of Bangor.
